Over the next two to three weeks (REALLY, that's what the builders told us!) we are going to go through a period of destruction and re-construction that should see our single bathroom transformed into two smaller bathrooms. At the end of this journey the larger bathroom will have had it's shower and bidet removed, the bath (with internal shower) and sink relocated and the toilet turned by 90 degrees. The area where the bath and shower were will then be divided by a wall, this area becoming the new en-suite bathroom, accessed from our second bedroom. The only problem here is that a doorway must be knocked through the central, load-bearing, 60cm stone wall. In addition to this work, we are having the chimney-breast removed and a freestanding woodburning stove installed. This in itself will be no mean feat, as the breast is 150cm x 120cm, rising to a height of 5 metres. (Or, depending on your accent, 5 feet x 4 feet rising to just under 17 feet). No matter which way you look at it, that is one big breast! We are also having the entrance foyer tiled, matching the same tiles that will be placed under the new fireplace. Each day we will add to this site, photos and commentary showing the progress of the works, which are due to commence on Tuesday, 29 May 2007. Bookmark us now and check back daily! If this is your first visit, why not start with DAY 0 and work your way through a day at a time? As each page has a link to the next day's page, you won't miss a single riveting moment! I'm getting far too much whitespace, here, now. Obviously I must have thought the works would have been concluded sooner! New from Two Loos - Le Trek (August
